O God, you chose Paul to be a messenger of your Word. Open our ears to receive his message, and hear us as we pray: God, show us your mercy and love.  

Deepen your Church’s boast in the Lord and preferential option for the poor. 

God, show us your mercy and love.  

Give us the eyes of faith so that we see Christ in one another. 

God, show us your mercy and love.  

Bring all people together to share at last in the promise of everlasting life. 

God, show us your mercy and love.  

Our Father . . .  

May God strengthen us by the witness and words of Paul and open our hearts anew to the power of God’s Spirit and grace working in us. Amen

Sister Susan Barber, OSB, is a member of the Benedictine Community of Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, KS. She received a master’s degree in Music from UMKC and a master’s degree from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Susan is currently the community’s liturgist. She is one of the community’s main organists and pianists. Susan graduated from Souljourners in 2018 and offers retreats at Sophia.
