Evening Intercessions 

Mighty God, you cast down the mighty and raise up the lowly. In company with Mary we pray: Gracious God, hear us. 

Help us to secure protection of life from conception through every stage of human development.  

     Gracious God, hear us.  

Guide editors, journalists, and reporters in their efforts to communicate with clarity and truth.  

     Gracious God, hear us. 

Lift up single parents who are struggling, and help us to advocate for their needs.  

     Gracious God, hear us. 

Our Father . . . 

May God favor us with love and mercy, through Jesus, whose coming we eagerly await. Amen.

Sr. Susan Barber, OSB

Sister Susan Barber, OSB, is a member of the Benedictine Community of Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, KS. She received a master’s degree in Music from UMKC and a master’s degree from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Susan is currently the community’s liturgist. She is one of the community’s main organists and pianists. Susan graduated from Souljourners in 2018 and offers retreats at Sophia.
