Gracious God, you are always ready to help those who call upon you. In faith we pray:

Show us mercy, God.  

Protect all people from land mines.  

     Show us mercy, God.  

Guard the innocence of children, and help us stop the practice of training child soldiers.

Give eternal peace and joy to those who die a violent death.

May the Spirit of God animate our hearts in prayers of supplication and thanksgiving that spill forth in the telling of God’s wonderful deeds and Christ’s love. Amen.
