God of glory, with joyful hope we await the day of your coming and pray: Hear us, O God.  

Quiet our hearts so that we may ponder your word and respond wholeheartedly to your call. 

Hear us, O God. 

Heal those who have been abused, struggle with addictions, or bear the cross of sickness. 

Hear us, O God. 

Further efforts to ensure good health care and emotional support for pregnant women. 

Hear us, O God. 

Our Father. . .  

May God bless us to be fervent in spirit, gracious in speech, and untiring in love, through Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Sr. Susan Barber, OSB

Sister Susan Barber, OSB, is a member of the Benedictine Community of Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, KS. She received a master’s degree in Music from UMKC and a master’s degree from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Susan is currently the community’s liturgist. She is one of the community’s main organists and pianists. Susan graduated from Souljourners in 2018 and offers retreats at Sophia.
