Provident God, you draw near to the poor who are oppressed and the needy who sigh. With trust we pray: God, in your wisdom, hear our prayer. 

Strengthen your Church’s outreach to married couples and families.  

God, in your wisdom, hear our prayer. 

Shower your encouragement and unconditional love upon new parents.  

God, in your wisdom, hear our prayer. 

Give understanding, insight, and kindness to counselors, spiritual companions, and mentors.  

God, in your wisdom, hear our prayer. 

Our Father . . . 

May God lead us to truth and bless us with the peace of Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Sr. Susan Barber, OSB

Sister Susan Barber, OSB, is a member of the Benedictine Community of Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, KS. She received a master’s degree in Music from UMKC and a master’s degree from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Susan is currently the community’s liturgist. She is one of the community’s main organists and pianists. Susan graduated from Souljourners in 2018 and offers retreats at Sophia.
