Compassionate God, you pursue us with relentless love. In company with St. Gertrude we ponder the sacred heart of Jesus and pray: Fill our hearts with your peace, O God. 

Attune your Church to perceive the ways your Spirit is calling young people to holiness and life in Christ. 

     Fill our hearts with your peace, O God. 

Give joy to those who are called to the single vocation. 

     Fill our hearts with your peace, O God. 

Enlighten the discernment of seminarians, novices in religious life, and lay volunteers.  

     Fill our hearts with your peace, O God. 

Our Father . . . 

May the love of God hold us in peace, and may the Holy Spirit bring us together in the love of Christ. Amen.

Sr. Susan Barber, OSB

Sister Susan Barber, OSB, is a member of the Benedictine Community of Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, KS. She received a master’s degree in Music from UMKC and a master’s degree from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Susan is currently the community’s liturgist. She is one of the community’s main organists and pianists. Susan graduated from Souljourners in 2018 and offers retreats at Sophia.
